Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter born in Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. As a child, she was exposed to lots of traditional music as well as traditional boleros. She also listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos and the dramatic and opera performances. She started singing and studying songs with her mother and commenced more serious vocal training when she was 16 under the renown Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara as well as in Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many chamber and opera choirs. When she moved from Mexico to America in 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of the traditional Latin American music at private performances. Alongside being an instructor and performer in the local area and instructor, her passion for art and music has her active in a variety of projects. Ana has been a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able to share with others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations continue the tradition.
